Thermoplastic elastomers have a variety of possible structures, the most fundamental of which is the need for at least two polymer phases that disperse from each other, one as fluid (so that the temperature is higher than its Tg-glassed temperature) and the other as a solid (so that the temperature is lower than its Tg or equal to Tg), and there is an interaction between the two phases.
